Duckabush River

Olympic Peninsula

updated 1 week ago

As of mid-June 2026, the Duckabush River trail is largely clear and in great condition below Seven Mile Camp, thanks to recent trail crew efforts. Wildflowers are still abundant, transitioning from spring blooms to summer varieties. Mosquitoes are present and noticeable when stopping, especially near campsites like Two Mile Camp (reported June 19).

Beyond Seven Mile Camp, the trail becomes significantly overgrown, particularly between Five Mile and Ten Mile Camps, with some sections bordering impassable (reported June 11). Some downed trees are present above Six Mile Camp, though hikers have been able to navigate them. River crossings are generally easy but the water is very cold.

The road to the trailhead remains rough with deep potholes, requiring slow and careful driving, even for vehicles with higher clearance. Parking was about a quarter full on a recent Friday afternoon and fuller on weekend mornings. The privy is often locked.
