Mount Dickerman
North Cascades
As of February 16, 2026, current conditions on Mount Dickerman are largely dependent on recent snowfall, but expect winter travel. Road access to the Dickerman trailhead is likely blocked by the seasonal Deer Creek gate closure, adding approximately two miles each way.
Recent reports from January 22, 2026, indicate hard, compacted snow beginning around 4100 feet. Snowshoes were found to be effective, though microspikes struggled with grip on icy sections, and crampons and poles may be optimal. Downed trees were noted in the lower sections of the trail.
An earlier report from December 2, 2025, described snow starting about two miles up, becoming deeper in the meadows, necessitating snowshoes for the final approach. The trail itself was reported in good shape. Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
