Sauer's Mountain
Central Cascades
As of April 29, 2026, Sauer's Mountain is experiencing peak bloom for Balsamroot, with Lupine also abundant. Expect beautiful wildflower displays, though some reports suggest density may be lower than in previous years.
The trail is mostly dry and dusty, with some narrow, slippery sections reported. Beware of mountain bikers, as the trail is narrow in places. Parking is extremely limited (around 10 cars) and strictly enforced; arriving early is crucial. A porta-potty is available at the trailhead, but pack out all trash. The trail involves steep sections and has forks, so downloading maps is recommended. Snow is not a factor at this elevation.
