The gravel road off Highway 24 was in great shape on the approach as of November 15. While the east side was more washboarded on the way out, all vehicles made it to and from the trailhead without issue on that date.
The keyhole rock formation has partially collapsed, with the arch fallen, and the remaining portion appears unstable as of November 15. The lower trail near the river can be overgrown and braided with game trails, making GPS helpful at times, and it's advised to avoid during snake season.
Wildlife sightings have included bald eagles, meadowlarks, rock wrens, sage thrashers, white-crowned sparrows, swallows, and ravens. A large buck was also seen swimming across the Columbia River on November 15.
Port-a-potties are available at the boat launch, with one being wheelchair accessible. They were unlocked and fairly clean as of May 3, though some spiders and dead wasps were noted.
