Barclay Lake
Central Cascades
The road to Barclay Lake is impassable due to significant washouts and a major landslide. Multiple reports from January 2026 indicate extensive road damage, with one detailed account from January 18 describing a deep mud pit and hillside debris blocking the path, making even high-clearance vehicles unable to proceed. Hikers have attempted to navigate past these obstacles on foot but found the mud too deep and impassable.
Earlier reports from December 2025 also noted road closures and impassable sections. The trail itself is experiencing numerous blowdowns, requiring climbers to navigate over or under fallen trees. Snow-free conditions were reported in late 2025 and early 2026. Access to Barclay Lake is currently not feasible by vehicle, and attempting to bypass the landslide on foot is highly dangerous.

Hey all. Went to hike Barclay lake today Jan 10 2026. The road is impassable to vehicles. I’m sad for this as it’s a great winter hike. It’s going to take some heavy equipment to repair the road.
