The trail to Buck Creek Pass is currently very difficult to navigate due to a significant number of downed trees and overgrowth. As of July 13, hikers counted over 500 blowdowns, making passage challenging. The road to the trailhead is also closed at Atkinson Campground, requiring an additional 5.6-mile walk to reach the trailhead. Additionally, bugs were reported to be an annoyance on July 13, July 13.
