Colchuck Lake Conditions (February 16, 2026):
Based on reports from late November 2025, anticipate challenging conditions. The road to the trailhead had numerous potholes. While much of the trail was snow-free in late November, ice patches and a slick second bridge crossing were noted. Microspikes were recommended due to icy conditions, particularly on a bridge over a river. Bathrooms were unavailable. Parking was light in the early morning. One report indicated the gate was still open, but urged visitors to go before winter closure.
