As of July 30, 2026, Fremont Lookout is largely snow-free and in excellent condition. Parking at Sunrise can be challenging; expect waits, especially for late morning or afternoon arrivals. The trail is mostly exposed and can be dusty, with some narrow sections and steep drop-offs, making it less suitable for very young children. Wildflowers are blooming, and wildlife like marmots, pikas, and occasional bears have been spotted. Wind can be significant at the lookout itself. The road to Sunrise is open.
