Frog Mountain

Central Cascades

updated 3 months ago

As of February 16, 2026, Frog Mountain conditions are still influenced by early winter snow.

The single report from November 30, 2025, indicates snow started below the 2600ft parking lot, with the summit holding around 12 inches of compacted snow and ice. Traction devices like microspikes are recommended, though trail runners with worn lugs were manageable on the packed trail. The trail itself was well-worn and easy to follow to the summit.

Index-Galena Road was snow-free but slick with frost in late November. The stretch from pavement end to Jack Pass was clear. Expect snow and ice on the trail, likely requiring microspikes or snowshoes as the season progresses.
