Recent reports have highlighted significant wildlife activity. Mountain goats, including young ones, were observed near Panhandle Gap as of August 31. Bears have been seen foraging on mountain ash, and an eagle was spotted soaring in the distance on August 8. Bats were also noted flying around at dusk near Olallie Creek camp on August 8. Be aware that this is considered a high bear area, especially near Indian Bar camp.
