The trail to Kaleetan Peak is in good condition, with no snow reported as of September 20. The road to the trailhead is suitable for all vehicles, and parking was plentiful on September 20 and September 19, though the toilets at the main lot were out of toilet paper on September 19. Hikers can expect to find the water slide and Keekwulee Falls running very low as of September 19. Fall colors are starting to appear, with vine maples described as resplendent and blueberries turning color with vivid yellows and reds on September 19. The final scramble to the summit is generally considered Class 2/3 with solid holds.

No, there is no water source once you leave Melakwa Lake, so you must bring all the water you need with you. This was last noted on September 20.
The summit scramble is generally described as Class 2/3 with solid holds. It is primarily on dry rock, though some loose scree is present on a north-facing slope around the 5,600-foot saddle, which can be slick. This was last reported on September 19 and September 20.
The trail to Melakwa Lake is in good shape. There are a few blowdowns that are easily navigated, and one creek crossing without a bridge that can be managed by walking on rocks and a split log. Poles are helpful for balance. This was reported on September 9.
The summit register was found to be full and its container broken as of July 15. It was suggested that a new register and container be brought up by future hikers.

This was my first time up the Denny Creek Trail. The new and improved parking lot requires a slightly longer walk than the old trailhead. Less than a mile in you pass beneath the westbound potion of t...
