On September 5, Preston Trail was reported to be mostly clear with minor obstacles. The road was suitable for all vehicles and there were no reported bugs. However, a section of the Bootleg Trail, which intersects with Preston Trail, was noted as becoming very overgrown, and the path where it crossed the power line trail to the 15 Mile Railroad Grade was nearly non-existent. This overgrown section eventually improved further on the way back to the Tiger Mountain Trail.
