Sage Hills
Central Washington
As of May 3rd, 2026, Sage Hills offers a vibrant spring wildflower display, though the balsamroot bloom is past peak at lower elevations and withering. Higher up and in drainages, balsamroot, lupine (at peak), and phlox are still abundant. Expect colorful hillsides with splashes of orange, purple, white, and pink.
Parking is a significant issue, especially at Kenzie's Landing and the Day Drive Trailhead, with lots filling early and neighborhood parking prohibited. Be prepared for dust, and note that some trails are closed for maintenance or construction, requiring flexibility in route planning. Tick and rattlesnake warnings remain relevant. Trails are generally well-maintained but can be dusty and gully in spots. No water is available on the trail; carry your own.
