The road to the trailhead has been reported as suitable for all vehicles as of August 20. There were barricades at the turnoff from Highway 123 in one report, directing visitors to enter through the southeast entrance.
Parking availability can vary. One report from August 20 noted that the recommended parking lot is about a quarter mile from the southeast entrance and had spots available, while another from June 29 mentioned the parking area had open spots when they arrived mid-morning but cars were waiting to fill spots when they left. One report suggested parking at Grove of the Patriarchs with lots of open spots.
