The 5 Mile Road (FR 7224) was described as rough and brushy, recommending a high clearance vehicle as of June 7, 2026. It was reported as open and not currently in a closed status in June 2026.
As of June 7, 2026, there were many downed logs on the trail that required navigation around and over. Reports from January 17, 2026 mentioned countless downed trees and advised being prepared for a lot of log-jumping, though volunteers were working on clearing them.
Access from the southern route via FS road 9716 was blocked by snow berms and ruts as of May 14, 2025, making it impassable. No more recent reports mention this southern access.
In June 23, 2026, the Camas Creek Road (FS Road 7200) was reported as being in great shape with no difficulties for all vehicles. This northern access transitioned to gravel after Camas Meadows.
