Parking can be very busy, especially in the afternoons. One report from late July noted that the lot was packed by 5:00 PM, requiring them to park further down the road.
There is no privy directly at the Whistle Lake parking area. However, a privy in decent shape is available about 0.3 miles south on Trail 20 as of September 24.
The trails are reported to be snow-free and in good condition with no blocking obstacles as of September 24. There are rocky sections, but these did not pose a problem for hikers with trekking poles.
