Today, September 23, 2026, conditions on White Salmon Road Snowshoe are best described as wintery, with reports from January to March 2026 indicating significant snow cover. On March 22, the trail was about 1/3 covered in snow, not requiring snowshoes, though microspikes were suggested for grip. Earlier in the season, on February 27, the Nooksack Nordic Ski Club was noted for maintaining winter trails with excellent signage. This report also mentioned wet, sloppy snow by the Extension turnoff and ski tracks visible on the main road. Another report from the same day, February 27, simply stated very nice trail conditions with lots of snow. On February 16, there was plenty of snow, with a few thin and bare spots, especially as elevation decreased. The parking area was described as small and very icy on February 16, with capacity for about five cars. On January 4, snowshoes or skis were an absolute must due to snow cover, and the road was suitable for all vehicles.

Reports indicate the road is generally suitable for all vehicles, though February 16 described the White Salmon Road parking area as small and very icy, with space for only about five cars. On January 4, parking was lucked out with two parties leaving as they arrived.
The Nooksack Nordic Ski Club was recognized for their maintenance and care of winter trails on February 27, with great signage noted. Reports from February 27 and February 16 mention wet, sloppy snow in certain areas and some thin or bare spots.
On March 22, beautiful views of Mt Shuksan were reported at the viewpoint at the end of the trail. On February 16, a beautiful view of Shuksan was also noted from the Knob, though some low clouds and light snow were present.
