While some balsamroot may be fading, lupine appears to be at its peak. The trails are generally in good shape, with some narrow sections and occasional ruts. There are a couple of easy creek crossings, one of which may be slightly tricky and has some branches across it. The parking lot at Crawford Oaks trailhead can fill up, especially on nice days. The area is known for being exposed to wind and sun, so planning for these conditions is recommended.
