The trail has numerous downed trees, particularly after Greenwater Lakes. As of August 26, there were many blowdowns, some awkward to get over, and 17 in the last half-mile before the lake. On July 3, blowdowns were described as more and more frequent after the split to Lost Lake, with several spots completely blocked.
Yes, there is at least one short, unavoidable patch of mud after the Echo / Lost fork, as reported on August 3.
