Mount Peak (Pinnacle Peak)

Mount Rainier Area

updated yesterday

As of March 25, 2026, the south trailhead for Pinnacle Peak is accessible and open. Recent reports indicate a blowdown approximately a quarter mile up the trail, covering two switchbacks (March 25). The trail itself was in good condition prior to this obstacle. The Cal Magnusson trail remains closed due to a washout. Several reports from December 2025 and February 2026 mention the trail being snow-free and in good condition with no significant obstacles beyond minor washouts and the aforementioned blowdown. Parking is available at the south lot.
