Wildflowers were still present and abundant on the ridgeline as of June 10, including various species in bloom. While not as abundant as in a wetter spring, they were still considered pretty.
As of May 17, there was a bit of snow lingering on the trees and along the ridge to Mount Baldy. No snow traction gear was needed for this report. Snow was also noted on the section to Thomas Mountain.
The trailhead parking lot is small and can fill up quickly, with cars sometimes parking along the road by May 17. One report mentioned that the parking lot was half-taken by campers, and noted debris from campsites.
