Rattlesnake Mountain - Grand Prospect

Snoqualmie Region

updated 1 week ago

As of March 15, 2026, Rattlesnake Mountain to Grand Prospect is snow-covered, becoming deep and soft near the summit, with post-holing likely. Lower sections had icy conditions on March 15, transitioning to packed snow. Traction devices may be useful for descents as temperatures warm. The parking lot had snow and ice but is manageable. A few small downed trees are present. Reports from January and February noted blowdowns east of Grand Prospect due to logging, making that section difficult and potentially hazardous, with some recommending avoiding it. Access roads are suitable for all vehicles.

This trail is so well maintained, including a new bridge crossing the creek. A beautiful, cold, blue sky day hike! The only snow was @ Grand Prospect, hard packed and a bit slippery.

Left some red hiking poles on the trail today, 12/29. It seems like someone picked them up as they were not where I’d left them. Please reach out if you have them: lindsey.mcc.clark@gmail.com
