The road leading to the trailhead is suitable for all vehicles and has been significantly improved, with potholes largely addressed. Wildflowers were noted as stunning in late June. However, a significant concern is the lack of a reliable water source on the trail or at Deer Park, with hikers advised to carry ample water, especially on warm days. Annoying bees were reported in early August, and while no specific bug issues were mentioned on June 29, earlier in the summer there were no bugs. Cougars have been sighted in the area in the past, and hikers should be aware of their surroundings.
